LAN cable certifiers, also known as LAN cable testers, are used to certify copper-based datacom cables and can identify and locate faults in Cat6, Cat6a, Cat8, and other twisted-pair cables. The graphical display on the LAN cable tester shows the cable wire map and checks the cable length, qualified cabling speed, and whether the cable meets the required standards.
Certification instruments provide pass/fail information in accordance with industry standards. The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is an industry standards organization in North America that deals with the transmission capabilities of structured cabling. The Electro-technical commission of the International Organization for Standards (ISO/IEC) maintains and creates standards for telecommunication cabling on the international level. Cable certifiers are able to determine whether a link is compliant with category TIA or class ISO.
Avalon Test Equipment carries a variety of LAN cable certifiers from top manufacturers (Fluke, EXFO, and more) to meet industry standards. Rent or purchase from Avalon and Test With Confidence®.
