SAE J1113 is a test standard developed by SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineering) concerning electromagnetic compatibility measurement procedures and limits for components of vehicles, boats (up to 15 m), and machines (except aircraft). The purpose of this standard is to measure the audio frequency (AF) and radio frequency (RF) immunity within the frequency range of 16.6 Hz to 18 GHz, along with measuring conducted and radiated emissions. This standard defines test methods and procedures for testing the electromagnetic immunity of electronic components for passenger and commercial vehicles. During testing, the electronic module, wiring harness, and peripheral devices are subjected to a generated electromagnetic disturbance inside an absorber-lined chamber. SAE J1113 limits electromagnetic disturbances to continuous narrowband electromagnetic fields.
